  1. Day 1 Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m)

    Arrive in Kathmandu and check into our OneSeed partner lodge in the heart of the ancient city of Patan. Catch up on some much-needed sleep and venture out for some dinner on your own.

  2. Day 2 Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m)

    Spend the day exploring the Kathmandu Valley. Shake the jetlag with a visit to Swayambhunath, the “Monkey Temple”. Take in the views of the city from atop one of the most important Buddhist stupas in Nepal. Return around 1 pm to spend the afternoon exploring the city on your own. In the evening, join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner banquet.

  3. Day 3 Kathmandu to Birethanti (3,362ft/1025m)

    Travel by private van or jeep to Birethanti, the entrance point for the Annapurna region. Stay in Birethanti for the night.

  4. Day 4 Birethanti to Ulleri (6430 feet/1960m)

    Your expedition begins! Check out the stunning waterfalls as you pass through terraced rice fields. This first day is a tough one. From the trailhead of Birethanti, ascend gradually for 2-3 hrs, stop for lunch, then transverse steep switchbacks to get to the village of Ulleri.

    Total distance: 6 miles. Approximately 5-7 hours trekking

  5. Day 5 Ulleri to Ghorepani (9,383ft/2860m)

    Gaining almost 3,000ft/914m this day, you’ll be exhausted, but triumphant as you enter the hilltop village of Ghorepani and get your first views of the Annapurna range. Tired legs are to be expected!

    Total distance: 6 miles. Approximately 5-6 hours trekking

  6. Day 6 Ghorepani to Tadapani (8,629ft/2600m)

    Arise before sunrise and take an hour hike to Poon Hill, known as one of the best vantage points for taking in the Himalayan dawn and enjoying the view of the mountains. After spending half an hour on the hillside, head back to the teahouse for breakfast before starting your hike for the day. Ascend for two hours, enjoying picturesque waterfalls along the way. Stop for tea in Deurali then descend to the village of Tadapani.

    Total distance: 7.5 miles. Approximately 5 hours of trekking

  7. Day 7 Tadapani to Chomrong (7,119ft/2170m)

    Pass through Chule, a quaint village which sits atop a lush green ridge, and soak in the views of Kimrang Khola. After a steady ascent, reach Chomrong, one of the last villages on your trek inside the Annapurna Sanctuary.

    Total distance: 5 miles. Approximately 4 hours of trekking

  8. Day 8 Chomrong to Dovan (8,530ft/2,600m)

    From Chomrong, pass through Sinuwa Danda, and move through the rhododendron forest to climb to Dovan.

    Total distance: 7.2 miles. Approximately 5-6 hours of trekking

  9. Day 9 Dovan to Deaurali (10,826ft/3300m)

    Continue uphill along the bank of the Modi Khola valley through the lush forest and arrive at Deurali.

    Total distance: 5.6 miles. Approximately 5 hours of trekking

  10. Day 10 Deaurali to Annapurna Base Camp (13,550ft/4130m)

    Hike through pristine forests, moving into the alpine region where you will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, also known as Mt. Fishtail. After lunch at Machhapuchhre continue the final stretch to Annapurna Base Camp. Congratulations, you made it!

    Total distance: 4 miles. Approximately 5 hours of trekking

  11. Day 11 Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (7,579ft/2310m)

    Start your descent from Annapurna Base Camp. It’s (almost) all downhill from here.

    Total distance: 8 miles. Approximately 5-7 hours trekking

  12. Day 12 Bamboo to Jhinu (5,840ft/1780m)

    Weather permitting, the Jhinu Hot Springs will be a welcomed luxury for tired bodies.

    Total distance: 5.5 miles Approximately 3-4 hours trekking

  13. Day 13 Jhinu to Pokhara (2,900ft/884m)

    On your final day on the trail, continue the descent to Syaulibazar where you will meet your jeep then ride to Pokhara. Enjoy Pokhara in the evening as you bask in the accomplishment of the trek.

    Total distance: 6 miles Approximately. 3-4 hours trekking

  14. Day 14 Rest day in Pokhara (2,900ft/884m)

    Spend this rest day by the lake, taking in the views and enjoying your first hot shower in days!

  15. Day 15 Pokhara to Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m)

You are responsible only for personal clothing and gear listed below. We’ll take care of everything else.  A gear check will be completed before you depart for the trail. This list does not include additional clothing/items you may want for travel or for your time off the trail.  Any luggage not needed on the trail can be left in storage during your expedition.

Packing System: This expedition includes porters for bag transport. You are only responsible for carrying a daypack. We recommend packing your items in a large backpack or a durable duffle bag.

CLIMATE OVERVIEW

Peak season to travel to the Annapurna region falls between September and November and then again between February and April. The weather on the trail will vary at different altitudes, but in the town of Ghorepani, which is located at 9,393 feet; June is the hottest month of the year with averages as high as 68°F. Winter months like January can get a cold as 25°F.

The monsoon season falls during the summer months of June, July, and August when rainfall can be as high as 5.5 inches per month. The rest of the year is relatively dry with only 1 inch of rain.

Activity Level: Challenging Adventure Holiday

No technical skills are required, and first-time trekkers are welcome on this trip. Typical days require at least 5 hours of trekking, and some significant elevation changes. So, you should be physically fit.
