This is not a challenging adventure. As long as you have average fitness, as you should be able to hike 3 to 5 hours. It’s perfect for first-time hikers and no previous kayaking experience is required. All instruction and support are provided.

  1. Day 1 DUBROVNIK TO KONAVLE

    A staff member will greet you at the Dubrovnik international airport and take you to your hotel located in the village of Gruda, a 15-minute ride from the airport. Gruda is located in the small Konavle region known for its colorful wine valleys and rolling hills of just south of Dubrovnik. Here you can rest, drink some wine, or stroll through the local village. In the evening, your group will have a trip briefing before heading out for the welcome dinner with your guide at a local restaurant.   2. Day 2 KONAVLE TO ISLAND OF LOPUD TO KONAVLE

    After breakfast, head to Gruž, the main port of Dubrovnik. Board a ferry for a 30-minute ride to the island of Lopud, one of the most beautiful islands in the Elaphite archipelago. Begin today’s adventure by kayaking to the island of Šipan. Trade your paddle for pedals and explore this charming and peaceful island on mountain bikes. Enjoy a picnic lunch and a swim in the sea with the option to snorkel (mask and snorkel provided) before getting back on your bikes to finish your ride on Šipan. At the Suđurad harbor, head out in kayaks for a sunset paddle back to Lopud. Return to your hotel in Konavle for the night.

  3. Day 3 KONAVLE TO ISLAND OF MLJET

    Get an early start today. From the hotel, head to the port of Prapratno where you will catch a ferry for a 45-minute ride to Mljet National Park, one of the oldest marine sanctuaries in the Mediterranean. The island will amaze you with its rich cultural heritage, history, and natural beauty. From the port of Sobra, take a short 30-minute ride to the village of Pomena to begin your hike to explore the island and the national park. Return to Pomena for the night.

    Total Hiking: approximately 12 miles (19.3 km) / 5-6 hours hiking

  4. Day 4 ISLAND OF MLJET

    Spend a full day on the island of Mljet hiking in the national park. Hike through the villages of Goveđari, Montokuc, and Veliki Planjak before returning to Pomena in the afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy and explore on your own.

  5. Day 5 ISLAND OF MLJET TO ISLAND OF BRAČ

    After breakfast, explore the Island of Mljet once again, this time on mountain bikes. In the afternoon, return to Pomena and board a ferry for an evening 2.5-hour ride to the Island of Brač. Once on the Island, settle into your hotel in the village of Postira.

  6. Day 6 ISLAND OF BRAČ TO ISLAND OF VIS

    Get an early start today, leaving around 7 am for a challenging hike up Vidova Gora (2,552 ft), the highest peak on all the Adriatic Islands. The hike begins in the village of Postira on the north coast of Brač at sea level. Ascend through old olive fields, vineyards, and Dalmatian pine forest. Pass by dry stone walls, protected black pine forests, and remains of a World War II bunker. After reaching the peak, descend 750 ft (a little over a mile) to the town of Bol where you will have lunch. Afterward, take a private car to Milna to catch your catamaran to the Island of Vis and the village of Komiža. The rest of the day is yours to rest or head out for an optional evening hike along the beach.

    Peak Altitude: 2,552 ft (778 m)

    Total Hiking: approximately 10 miles (16 km) / 5-6 hours trekking

  7. Day 7 ISLAND OF VIS TO ISLAND OF BIŠEVO TO ISLAND OF VIS

    After breakfast on the hotel terrace, take a 20-minute walk through the small fishing village of Komiža to board a boat to the Island of Biševo. Once on the island, take a relaxing boat tour along the coast visiting the Modra Špilja, a beautiful ‘Blue Grotto’ sea cave. After the tour, return to the beach where you will set out on a hike across the island and learn why the area is under the protection of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Once on the other side, enjoy a swim in the sea before returning to Komiža for the evening.

    Total Hiking: approximately 6 miles (9.6 km) / 4-5 hours trekking

  8. Day 8 ISLAND OF VIS TO DUBROVNIK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

    Prepare for a very early start today! At 5 am, head to the port for your 2.5-hour ferry ride to Split. Once in Split, board a bus for an approximately 3-hour ride to the Dubrovnik International Airport to catch your international departure home.

What To Bring

You are responsible only for personal clothing and gear listed below. We’ll take care of everything else. A gear check will be completed before you depart for the trip. This list does not include additional clothing/items you may want for travel or for your time off the trail. See current weather conditions for Dubrovnik and the Island of Brač.

Packing System:  You are responsible for your daypacks (15-21 liters) while hiking, kayaking, and biking on the trail. The rest of your belongings should go in a medium-sized duffle bag or suitcase. Be sure to bring bottles or a hydration pack with at least 2 liters of water, snacks, camera, and a towel and bathing suit for days spent on the water. Your luggage may be left in storage at your hotels on the islands.

Climate

From May to September the Adriatic Sea is warm enough for swimming. In spring and early summer, the maestral (strong, steady westerly wind) makes for great sailing. July and August are Croatia’s high season for travel, boasting the nicest weather and sunniest days along the coast.
