Why Do We Recommend It?
Trekking in a truly unique landscape.
Staying in mountain huts.
An authentic and rewarding trek.
Experienced and trusted local tour operator.
A good manageable level for most people.
Incredibly photographic landscape.
Is It Right for Me?
This is a great active holiday for those that already love to trek. The difficulty of the trek is manageable, so you don’t need to be especially fit, but you will be walking 4 -7 hours per day, so it helps. No trekking experience is required.
You’ll be staying in mountain huts, which are like dorms and we love them, however, you must want that authentic experience rather than a luxury hotel.
For people who want to see and experience something different and unique.
Great for solo travelers, couples, friends, and parents with older children (14 years minimum)
What People Say About The Trip
…it was just a fantastic experience! I won’t waste a lot of words on the scenery, it’s just indescribably beautiful, and completely otherworldly in spots…Our guide for this trek, Selma, was outstanding in every way, and I think this sentiment was shared by everyone in our group. Her knowledge of the geology, the wildlife, the attractions and sites along the trail, and Icelandic customs and lore, really added to the experience, not to mention her skill as a tour guide. She knew the trail inside and out, was always patient with the group, always had something interesting to tell us, and never let any stragglers get left behind. Of course she was also a great cook, and never let any of us go hungry before, during, or after a long day of trekking. This was truly an experience of a lifetime for us. I’d give it six stars if I could.
