    You need to be physically fit for this one. You don’t need any previous trekking experience, but you do need to be able to carry your own pack for several hours.

    1. Day 1 Arrive to Puerto Williams (20m/66ft)

      The team will meet you at your hotel in Punta Arenas at 8:30 am for a quick briefing. From there, take a 1.5-hour flight from Punta Arenas to Puerto Williams (flight included). Arrive in Puerto Williams and get settled at your bed and breakfast. In the evening explore the small town of Puerto Williams and have a welcome dinner with your guide.

      * Clients should arrive in Punta Arenas a day before their expedition begins. For hotel suggestions, please contact info@oneseedexpeditions.com

      Inclusions: all meals after arrival; airport transfer; domestic flight (Punta Arenas to Puerto Williams); hostel accommodations

    2. Day 2 Puerto Williams to Laguna El Salto (480m/1574ft)

      Your backpacking adventure begins! Head out for Laguna El Salto where you’ll have an incredible view of the Dientes (‘teeth’) de Navarino and the sedimentary formation sculpted by glaciers. The trail starts with an ascent to Cerro Bandera (620m) which allows for a fantastic view of the Beagle Channel and to preview the challenging route in the coming days. Tonight we stay in a shelter in front of the lake for dinner and see the austral sunset.

      Total distance: approximately 7.5 miles or 5 hours of trekking

    3. Day 3 Laguna El Salto to Laguna Escondida (462m/1515ft)

      Cross the famous Paso Australia (805m) and ascend the saddle between peaks (865m). From there, start down the ”Picacho de Dientes” (1118m) passing through beaver ponds and continuing to Laguna Los Dientes at the bottom of the massif. Continue to the campsite next to Laguna Escondida at the foot of Mount Gabriel for a much-needed rest.

      Total distance: approximately 5.5 miles or 6-7 hours of trekking

    4. Day 4 Laguna Escondida to Laguna Martillo (859m/2818ft)

      Break camp on the banks of the Laguna and begin today’s trek surrounded by beech forests as you climb up to Paso Gale (696m). From the pass, take in the views of the surrounding summits. Arrive in Laguna Martillo where we’ll set up tents for the night.

      Total distance: approximately 5 miles or 5-6 hours of trekking

    5. Day 5 Laguna Martillo to Laguna Los Guanacos (480m/1574ft)

      Follow the faint trail around the edge of Laguna Martillo to reach Rio Guerrico (572m/1876ft) and our route down the valley. Pass through meadows before crossing our last and highest mountain pass–Paso Virginia (892m). Spend one final night under the stars at Laguna Los Guanacos.

      Total distance: approximately 6.5 miles or 7 hours of trekking

      Inclusions: all meals; camping accommodations

    6. Day 6 Laguna Los Guanacos to Puerto Williams (20m/66ft)

      The final morning begins with a hike from the lake through a lenga forest en route to Bahia MacLean. Reach the trailhead by midday and catch a ride to the lodge for the evening.

      Total distance: approximately 8.5 miles or 5-6 hours of trekking

      Inclusions: all meals, hostel accommodations

    7. Day 7 Puerto Williams to Punta Arenas (25m/84ft)

      Catch an afternoon flight from Puerto Williams back to Punta Arenas.

    Having a polar climate, the average temperature in the warmest month is 9.6 °C (49.3 °F), and in the coldest month 1.9 °C (35.4 °F). The annual average precipitation is 467 mm (18 in) and comes in the form of snow.
