    1. Day 1 PUERTO NATALES

      Arrive at the Puerto Natales bus station by 6pm where you will be greeted by your OneSeed guide and taken to our partner B&B. Review the welcome packet and complete a gear check before your welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

    2. Day 2 PUERTO NATALES TO TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK

      Take an early morning van ride (2 hours) from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park. On the way to the park, see stunning views of snow covered mountains and the turquoise lakes and fjords of the region. Hike from the trailhead of Torres del Paine to Emerald Lake that is the lookout of the Granite Towers. Pass back through Las Torres then catch a ride (1.5 hours) to the Serrano River Valley where you will sleep that night.

      Total Hiking: approximately 12.5 miles (20 km) / 7-8 hours of trekking

    3. Day 3 SERRANO RIVER VALLEY TO REFUGIO PAINE GRANDE

      Rise to the quiet cold mountain air of Patagonia; free from the crowds and pure winter wilderness. Continue through the park and make your way through a snow-covered lenga forest. Catch views of the jagged mountain peaks along to trail to Paine Grande through Las Carretas Trail.

      Total Hiking: approximately 12.5 miles (20 km) / 6 hours of trekking

    4. Day 4 PAINE GRANDE TO FRENCH VALLEY

      Depart Paine Grande for a stunning day hike to the French Valley. After a steady climb, we make it to an impressive view point of the French Valley, Cerro Hoja and Cerro Máscara, two of the famous horned peaks. Keep an eye out for condors, fox, and eagles. End your day back at Paine Grande for the night.

    5. Day 5 PAINE GRANDE TO GREY GLACIER

      Take a day hike to Grey Glacier, an impressive ice field that covers the west end of the park. Enjoy the beauty of Pehoé Lake and Grey Lake as you approach the glacier. Spend the third night at Refugio Paine Grande.

      Total Hiking: approximately 7 miles (11.3 km) / 9 hours trekking

    6. Day 6 PAINE GRANDE TO PUERTO NATALES

      Relax and soak in the last winter views of Torres del Paine for the first half of the day. Take the catamaran out of the park across Pehoé Lake. Meet your van and take a scenic ride back to Puerto Natales. Share a farewell dinner with your guide before a restful night at the partner lodge.

    ITINERARY SUMMARY

    Day 1: Arrive in Puerto Natales by 6 pm*
    Day 2: Depart for Torres del Paine National Park, day hike to the lookout of the Granite Towers
    Day 3: Hike to Refugio Paine Grande
    Day 4: Day hike to French Valley
    Day 5: Day hike to Grey Glacier
    Day 6: Complete the trek and travel to Puerto Natales

    PACKING LIST

    You are responsible only for personal clothing and gear listed below. We’ll take care of everything else.  A gear check will be completed before you depart for the trail. This list does not include additional clothing/items you may want for travel or for your time off the hike in Chile trail.

     

    Packing System: This hike in Patagonia expedition does not include porters. You are responsible for carrying all of your personal gear in your own pack.

    CLIMATE OVERVIEW

    May through September are Chile’s winter months so the weather will be cold in Torres del Paine National Park. During this season, the highs fluctuate around 40ºF and the lows can drop down below 20ºF. Expect a combination of wind, snow and sun!

     

    You may reach altitudes and experience high levels of physical exertion. No technical skills are required and first-time trekkers are welcome. Typical days require 5-10 hours of trekking and elevation changes.

    I traveled to Patagonia, Chile this past November and the accommodations, food, guides, and trek truly exceeded my expectations. The company took care of all the planning for transportation and stays so it was great to not have to worry over all the details.
